CAR WASH |
Mothers Day 2006 we had a Car Wash at Kahala Chevron from 7 am to 3 pm. We had over 35 volunteers from HAIA participating. The monies that we earned were used to offset the travel expenses for our Summer Trip to the mainland with the athletes. There is no greater love than a mother has for her son; this was Mother’s Day, and we had all the moms out washing and drying cars, to help their sons raise money for their football trip.
The Car Wash is something we are planning to do on a quarterly basis at various locations in Honolulu. It provides us a chance to work together as a group in a fun environment.

GOLF TOURNAMENT |
On October 30th, 2006 HAIA had it’s first Golf Tournament at the Prince Golf Course in Ewa Beach. With over 100 golfers, it was a day filled with fun and laughter throughout the course. Golfers were greeted with a sack lunch, beverages, and fresh fruits before they went to the driving range and the putting greens. They were able to participate in our Putting Contest that gave them a chance to win a Flat Screen TV.
With a Modified Scramble Format, every 3 person team had a chance to enjoy their round of golf. At the end of the day, golfers were able to have a delicious buffet dinner at the Bird of Paradise Restaurant. At the completion of dinner, there was a lively auction for various prizes including PGA Professional Gear, Inter Island Trips, Hotel Getaways at Aqua Wave Resort in Waikiki, and many others. Everyone went home a winner!
